Why Move to Corvallis?

Simply stated, it’s a friendly community and offers a terrific lifestyle. Incorporated in 1857, Corvallis is in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. And just recently, Corvallis was voted #1 on the EPA list of Green Power communities.

With a residential population of 54,890, it is home to Oregon State University, 16 public-funded K-12 schools and several private schools. And the housing market? ---Whether your preference is new construction or old or something in-between, you have choices when you come to Corvallis.

The region offers great weather to celebrate Corvallis in countless ways. And with average winter temperatures ranging in the 40’s to summer highs of about 80-85 – the moderate temperatures make it an ideal playground for recreation enthusiasts of all ages.

Bring your family to Corvallis in the fall and celebrate the annual Fall Festival in September. You’ll find over 170 artist booths, crafts, music, wine tasting and fun for the entire family including a 5K and 10K run.

The Da Vinci Days festival is held annually on the 3rd weekend in July. During this weekend you’ll find yourself at the crossroads of art, science, and technology. There's music, entertainment, creative contests, exhibits, and hands-on activities for all ages.

The Willamette Valley is just a short drive from many destinations. In nearby central Oregon you’ll find the largest concentration of destination resorts, golf courses, and world-class skiing, fishing and rock-climbing in the entire West.

Drive about 1 hour to the west of the city, you’ll land right at the spectacular Pacific Coast. With outdoor concerts in the summer, tree-lighting ceremonies in the winter, there is something for everyone here in the Willamette Valley.

Located near to Corvallis, are the cities of Philomath to the southwest, Monmouth and Independence about 25 minutes drive to the north. Each of these cities boasts charm, history, smaller populations and friendly communities within a rural setting. Monmouth, located just west of Independence, is the home of Western Oregon University, the oldest public university in Oregon and in the Pacific Northwest.
